February 21, 2016
Sunday afternoon, February 21st from 1-4pm
A Textile Workshop
$20. per person.
Colleen Wilson, Museum Textile Conservator, will lead our first hands-on workshop of the year.
Colleen will demonstrate a traditional skill at which most of our grandmothers were highly adept. In recent decades, however, the art of “Darning” has all but disappeared as clothing - and particularly the lowly sock - have become much too quickly disposable.
Do you have a favourite sweater or colourful pair of socks that just need a little judicious stitching to give them a new lease on life? Then bring yourself and your threadbare old friend(s) along to the Villa on February 21st for a darning and mending tutorial. Learn a new (old) skill!
We will supply the yarn, the tea and the goodies.
Seating is limited.
Reservations are required.
Please reserve at: firstname.lastname@example.org
There is a fee of $20 per person.
